2002-07-26 Celtic tenors capture German music award

The Celtic Tenors will be presented with one of the most prestigious prizes the German Music Industry has to offer in October of this year.


The group will be starting off a massive German tour in the best possible way when they collect the award for Classics Without Limit at the 2002 German Classical Echo Music Awards.


The Celtic Tenors, Matthew Gilsenan, Niall Morris and Sligoman James Nelson have had a huge following in Germany since the launch of their self titled debut album two years ago.


On their new album So Strong launched earlier this year, the trio included a German version of the classic You Are My Heart's Delight.

The band also include a German version of Danny Boy in their German shows.

They will be live on German TV on October 13 to receive their award. James, Niall and Matthew have just returned from Germany after a number of TV appearances and will return again for a nationwide tour in October and November.


The group will be heading stateside at the end of this month for a four week promotional tour to launch their new album. They will also be appearing on a two hour PBS TV Special.
